My Story

As the Senior Trainer for Felicia Hall Allen and Associates, Inc., Johnny has co-facilitated Leadership Development sessions for the NFL and team building trainings in many athletic conferences including the ACC, America Athletic Conference, Big 10, Big 12, Big East, Pac12 and SEC.

Mr. Allen is a graduate of the University of South Carolina. He holds certifications in "Teambuilding, Group Initiative and Leadership Development through Experiential Based Learning" from Winthrop University and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Johnny has obtained several certifications including: The DiSC Facilitation System, Coaching for Success, Crucial Confrontations, Situational Leadership, and Cultural Diversity. He also uses other instruments such as The Color Code Personality Profile and The Five Dysfunctions of a Team to assist teams in improving their productivity and team chemistry.

 

He is a contributing author for the North Carolina Department of Public Health Cultural Diversity Curriculum for Health Disparities Johnny has presented leadership development training through experience-based learning for over 20 years. Mr. Allen penned an article “Are You in The Game Fathers" using sports analogies encouraging fathers’ engagement in children's education.

 

He has been a facilitator and keynote speaker at a wide variety of state and national conferences and conventions reaching leaders, managers, administrators, front-line workers, coaches, athletes, and students across the nation.  A few of his clients have included: The United States Olympic Committee (Administrative/Technical Assistance Strategic Planning & Leadership Development), 100 Black Men of America (National Conference on the Disproportionality of African American Males), and the U.S. Virgin Islands Court System (Creating a Shared Vision Training). Other notable clients have also included the State of California Department of Probation and Parole, Community Partnership of Southern Arizona. In addition, Johnny has served as the Southern Region Technical Assistance Coordinator providing technical assistance training and support to twenty-three (23) federally funded programs in thirteen (13) states.
 

Mr. Allen has provided training for many of North Carolina low performing and Title I schools. He has served as Leadership Coach and facilitator for the Charlotte Mecklenburg Counsel of Elders composed of 15 nonprofit community service agencies funded by the United Way of Central Carolinas.

Some of Mr. Allen's early work experiences included: Winthrop University's (WINGS) Program Coordinator, York Technical College Student Support Services, Rock Hill High School (Basketball, Track & Cross-Country Coach). Currently, Mr. Allen travels the nation providing Leadership Development, Team Building and Management Training.


A community leader and advocate, Mr. Allen has consulted with the Homeless Day Shelter ROC (Renew Our Community). He also served on the Board of Directors of the Pathway's Community Center helping people who want to get out of poverty but don’t know where to start. He has served on an advisory committee for the Rock Hill Knowledge Park Athletic Facility and was one of the founding members of the Black Economic Leadership League (BELL) of Rock Hill.

Johnny resides in Rock Hill, South Carolina with his wife, Felicia. He is the proud father of Johnna Frierson, PhD and Jeremy Allen and grandfather to Elyse, Aaron, and Logan.
